Teach Me Tennis was founded in 2015 by members of Rome Tennis Management (RTM), a collective of local tennis pros made up of JP Selle, David Araiza, and Cristian Lopez, dedicated to teaching tennis across the region. In 2016, Logan Yerbey became the Program Director and managed day to day operations. This after-school program was born out of the desire to introduce this very individual sport to students in a team environment – giving them something to play for beyond their own personal goals. Over time, Teach Me Tennis grew to introduce tennis to over 1,000 students across nearly 15 schools before the 2020 COVID pandemic caused the program to enter a hiatus.

In 2023, the CVTA entered a partnership with RTM to resume operations of Teach Me Tennis and begin introducing tennis to a new generation of players. The CVTA is proud to continue the deep tradition of providing an affordable and fun introduction to tennis for children in the Coosa Valley area.
