Coosa Valley Tennis Association recently concluded its second annual High School Fundraising Tournament, rallying support from the community to raise crucial funds for local high school tennis teams.
The event, held on Feb. 18 at Rome Tennis Center, brought together tennis enthusiasts of all skill levels for a day of spirited competition and camaraderie. Participants showcased their talent in doubles matches, all while contributing to a worthy cause.
Simultaneously, CVTA hosted an online auction, offering a wide array of items to pique the interest of tennis fans and philanthropists alike. From exclusive memorabilia to ticket packages for the Atlanta Braves and the Atlanta Open Tennis Tournament, bidders had the opportunity to secure coveted prizes while supporting youth athletics.
“We are thrilled with the overwhelming response to our charity tennis tournament and online auction,” said Dave Dawson, vice president of CVTA. “The generosity and enthusiasm of the community have allowed us to make a significant impact on high school tennis programs, providing vital resources to support young athletes in their pursuit of excellence.”
Thanks to the collective efforts of participants, donors, and volunteers, the event raised $3,641 in support of high school tennis teams. These funds will go directly toward purchasing equipment, maintaining facilities, covering travel expenses, and fulfilling other essential needs to ensure the continued success of high school tennis programs.

To all of our tennis players and area high school alumni, join us at the Rome Tennis Center at Berry College and represent your alma mater or favorite area school for this one-day tournament to support local high school tennis teams as they prepare for their Spring Season! This tournament is open to players of all ages and levels and is doubles only.
Much like last year, this tournament will be a “play all you want” format. Check in either by yourself or with a partner at the front desk whenever you are ready to play and we will put you on court with opponents registered in your skill bracket. All games won will go towards your school’s point total to crown the winner!
Proceeds from the tournament will go towards area tennis teams – thank you to everyone who has donated to this special cause!

Current members of High School teams play free
Adults – $30 per player
Note: Players are not required to attend the tournament for the entire day. We will be assigning courts based on player availability and you can choose to play as much or as little as you want – all of your results will go towards helping your team!
